Click when Dialing

I recently picked up a Motorola E815 and paired it just fine. I've stored names in the phonebook and tried digit dialing through the car however I've noticed that when it actually goes to dial (after you say Call/Dial) it clicks/pops twice, then it starts ringing. Has anybody else noticed this? I would think this would have to do with the car and not so much the phone because the phone never does this when I am making calls.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've noticed the same thing. It's only happened when I've used a Motorola phone (Razr, V551). Hasn't happened when using a Nokia or RIM/Blackberry. I think it has something to do with the type of phone and how it connects to HFL speaker. It doesn't seem to affect any functionality though, as the calls sound fine once connected.

I'm hoping that this may be fixed in a firmware update for the Motorola phones I have in the future.

Thanks for the info.

Anybody else notice this with the Moto E815?

I noticed it also. It's kind of hard to describe. I haven't dialed out in a few weeks but I think I would describe it as whoosh/pop with an echo. I think we are talking about the same thing.

Kind of, yeah. So I am assuming this is normal? Is it worth taking it up with the dealer?

I am not sure if it is normal or not. Maybe a few more 815 owners will chime in. I was thinking of mentioning it to the service guy at my next oil change but I am not going to bring it in just for this. I don't dial from the car that much so I can live with it.
I am not sure if I want them to take apart any part of the car to look at this. I have seen a few posts here mentioning how taking apart the car to look at one thing might create other problems (granted, most of these posts concerned rattles and squeeks)

Yup

I have the e815 and it clicks/pops when connecting etc as you describe.

Not sure if it is the car or the phone. I suspect it is a side effect of the blue tooth gizmo thingy.

I agree, I think it's a Motorola problem. I had the problem with the Moto 710 but no problem with PPC-6700, Cingular 2125 (both rebadged HTC units), or the Blackberry 7520.

Ditto with my e815. I always picture an arrow hitting a bullseye when I hear the sound. Personally, I wish the HFL would act more like my Moto bluetooth headset and just pass all functions through to the phone. The built voice recognition and dialing on the e815 is VASTLY superior to the old school "record and repeat" process the TL's HFL uses.
