Question Clear Navigation Data

I bought a used 2004 TL with navigation which still has all the details from the previous owner (home address, routes, etc) still in the system. How do I clear all of this data out of the system and start new with my data? I do not see this anywhere in the manual that is still with the car.

Only thibgs that could possibly be cleared is previous destinations and "home" setting as far as I know. Just go to the home location and delete it and set the new one. Previous destinations should also have a delete button in that menu somewhere.

I cannot find any delete, clear, or edit for the home address screen.

I would need to go out to the garage and take a look, but can't you simply type over it and replace?

So I went out to the garage and checked it out. Bear in mind I have an 08 TL Type S so there may be differences between mine and your 04.

Turn the Navigation on
Hit SETUP
Hit More in the upper right hand corner
Hit Personal Information
This menu is titled - Edit personal information.

For editing the Home Address:
Hit Home Address

On my menu I have the option to hit buttons to Edit Name, Edit Address, Edit Phone Number or Delete.

Unhappy

The system does not allow me alter this screen Everything is grayed out and there is no way to edit, delete or alter the information at this point. I tried to enter all my information from the "set up" screen but the screen for "go home" is simply not editable for some reason.

Is it possible the prior owner has set up a PIN number? Have you gone in and tried to change or edit the PIN? If there is a PIN, you will likely need to go to the dealer to have them reset it. That is unless someone else here on AZine knows how to defeat or reset the PIN.

Reload your navigation disk. Hit map menu and cancel for 5 seconds and go to the secret menu. Click on version and then there is a button called load or install or something. Do that and it wipes out all previous user entries and starts your address book and previous destinations fresh

I have resolved this issue by going back in and running through the "set up" procedure one more time. I still need to know if I can delete all of the stored destinations or just have to wait until I input 50 new destinations for these to move out. The manual is not clear on this point.
