Changing the speakers

Whenever I played some CDs it doesn't sound as good as it was in my old car... However, when I play the sample DVD-A it sounds pretty good... Would changing the speaker helps? Would I need another amp for that?

If any of your sources, such as radio, DVD-A, etc. sound good, then switching speakers probably won't make the one "lesser" source sound as good as the others. If you're happy with the way the system plays DVD-A discs, then you're confirming you're happy with the speaker/amplifier combination. If all sources sound a bit off to you, then better speakers may be worthwhile.

Of course, if the only DVD-A that sounds good is the one that came with the car, then I'd suspect it's been mastered to fit the car's audio characteristics. I've not listened to that DVD-A anywhere but in my car, so I don't know if it's tweaked.

I have no DVD-A system other than that in the car... XM sounds decent, but I have no other XM to compare either... FM however sounds terrible to me... But CD sounds the worse, sounds more muffled... Anyone have any ideas on the wattage of our head unit, size of speakers in the 05 TL?

Have you tried upping the treble a bit on the Sound(?) page? That might help overcome some of the muffled sound.

I wish we had EQ memory settings. I also need to up the treble when playing CD's. But once I play DVD-A, XM or FM, I need to adjust the EQ settings for each mode.
