Center speaker 2005 Acura TL help
Center speaker 2005 Acura TL help
The center channel speaker is buzzing like there is static coming out of the speaker. Its not vibrating, I have no clue what to do. Can I remove the speaker alltogether and have the stereo work without issues?
I know the Nav voice would not work, but that doesn't bother me.
Any advice?

It is easily removed but it's very likely when you pop out the assembly one or more of the metal clips that hold it to the dash will pop off and forever descend to the bowels of the dash board.
The center channel speaker comes out attached to the grill. To remove the grill I used moderately flexible feeler gauge to get under the grill and gently pry it up. Using a screwdriver or other sharp/thicker tool risks marring the dash.
If you don't care much about aftermarket speakers then the easiest thing to do is just get a new speaker from any of the on line parts dealers. Know that it might not be the speaker that's bad so if you have any other speaker at all to test with it would be good to rule out a center channel failure of the power amp. The link below has all the info for parts. 16 and 30 are the clips I mentioned. 5 is the driver itself. It's overpriced but it's a an exact fit including the exact connector. Most aftermarket drivers will require modification of the grill and wiring.
