Center Channel

I've got the stock head unit running through a 3sixty. I noticed that when playing normal CDs (not surround sound) I can only turn off the center channel speaker via the 3 sixty - turning it off via the head unit controls doesn't stop the sound. Anyone else have this issue? I'm wondering if the install place screwed up the connections somehow.

probably the installers did not connect up the center speaker connection to the 3.sixty and the 3.sixty is using the left and right to create an artifcial one. The 04-06 TL only uses the center for the HFL, Navi and for the center channel in DVD-A, otherwise it is off.

I re-setup the 3sixty and now all's well. Looks like the install place messed up the setup (probably SUM'd the channels).

So in my 08 can I install a 3.sixty and amp but just leave the center channel setup as is? I have no plans to listen to any DVD-A's. The surround sound music sounds artificially surroundy to me. Live music comes from the stage, they don't play each instrument in a different corner of the room. As I understand it the center channel is unused for non-DVD-A or nav sources, is that right?

Actually, some sound comes out of the center channel when playing normal CDs. It's probably just the sum of the front two.

The center hosts the higher sounds, and a bit of the mids (voices), the left and right fronts give out the mids, and the rears act like filler tweeters.
