Cell Phone / Radio Interference - during charging

I have a 04 TL with Nav.

I have a Nokia 6600.

I have successfully paired and used the phone via Bluetooth.

However, when my battery is low on the cell phone and I plug it in via the A/C adapter (using the plug in the center console between the seats) I get strong interference with my AM radio stations. FM is fine.

Is it my car, the phone? I don't get it because everything is fine when the phone is not pluged in.

Any ideas, suggestions or should I just stop listening to AM radio?

Welcome to the club.

I'll move your thread into Bluetooth sub-forum.

Will you get interference while plugging other device or other adapters?

Do you have tints?

Thanks for putting this in the proper place - I wasn't sure exactly where was appropriate but I did do several searches and didn't find anything the same.

The car is unmodified - as is from the dealer - no tint or other modifcation/add-ons.

I have never noticed this interference before - have not used the power socket for any other electronics.

As soon as I unplug the phone, interference clears up. Do you think there may be something faulty in the socket wiring?

I'd like to try to use other electronics to plug into and see if it intercepts your radio again.

Will you get the same problem when only putting the plug of the phone's charger in the socket (without having your phone connected)? This could lead more clear clues if your phone itself is the factor...

rets,

Thanks for the ideas. When the cord is in the socket (but not plugged into the phone on the other end) there is no interference.

I would also like to try another device but I don't believe I have one......

...I'll have to find a friend with something that runs off a car adapter......

I will post any updated testing results/information here as it is gathered hoping that someone has some additional insights.

Thanks again.

Are you using an aftermarket car charger?
