I have an 05 TL with Navi and was wondering why the screen does not display CD text such as song titles. Is there any way to get the unit to display this text?

 

Not sure they did that untill 07 when they played Mp3 discs. Should be in the owners manual if you have one.

 

I Don't think this is possible. I've never seen track names on my 05 NAVI.

 

CD text is not available for the '04-'05 models. Trust me, I'm not happy about it either.

 

That CD text doesn't show on any normal CD's in my '08, and you know what else annoys me? The FM stations don't show station or song. The 2007 dodge caravan, bare bones model that I drive at work has that, but my $35K Acura with LCD touch screen navigation doesn't? Booo...

That's my only gripe with the car though..

 

It's all software related.. this is one of the reason's you cannot have both XM text and iPod text from DICE or similar unit

XM Mode supports text; CD/CD-C modes do not support text [if I remember correctly DICE said the only reason it does not support it is because it was not programmed in]

Anywho, long story short, 3G TLs do NOT support any RDS or CD-Text. 07-08's will show the file name on MP3 CDs.
