Thumbs up CD-RW- Si or No?

After searching, I found no answer. Pretty simple question:

Does the 3G TL play CD-RWs in its stock CD player?

I have a 2004 with a 2005 head unit (my original one died last year so I replaced it) and I'm quite tired of burning one-time use CD-Rs for the CD player, so I've been wondering if buying any CD-RWs would be worth it.

Muchas gracias, friends.

Not sure but.... DVD-A all day!! 5x the songs and you can use FLAC and WAV formats. If you here, I assume you care about the quality. That's my .2

I do have some DVD-As but obviously they're not of the most up-to-date stuff. Hence why I'm wondering if CD-RWs are compatible with the head unit.

Use torrents and download flac/wav formatted music. Then download that onto a DVD-A and you'll have the best sounding format possible. Blows that horribly compressed mp3/aac crap out of the water. It becomes VERY apparent when you have speakers that are not stock also. Just food for thought.

To answer your question though, yes...CD-RW will work

CD-RW discs will work in the 04-06 models. However, you must burn them in audio CD format for them to play. MP3 or WMA will not play as these formats are not supported until the UA7 models.

Yeah, this is what I was meaning by my posts but I didnt come out that simple and to the point haha. Good post for the OP.

Since you've got a 04-06 you'll only be able to play "audio" cd's and fit around 15-25 songs per CD. I use DVD-a's and fit 100+ songs in FLAC format.

I don't mean to slight your comment- indeed, I found everything posted so far to be incredibly useful. I've been making it a point to try to replace as much of my music collection with lossless formats so I can burn as many DVD-As as possible. Although I do have stock speakers, the sound difference is INCREDIBLE.

The only reason why I wanted to know about the CD-RWs is because I only burn DVD-As once in a long while (because of the quantity of songs, and the fact that they can only be written once). For the CD-RWs I have a degree of flexibility if I want to burn something temporary for a road trip or something like that.

Many thanks for the input, everyone! I'm gonna head out to dinner and buy some blank ones on my way back.

One love!

True! Is there a catch to using RW's though? I mean why would anyone ever use one that you cant record back over? It makes CD-r pointless...right? Never understood that lol

Amen and amen. Burning CDs for people is SO 2002. Going through an entire spindle of CD-Rs for road trips every few months seems like such a waste of money if I can just rerecord them on the fly anyway (since I always have my laptop anyway).
