CD Player Doesn't Work When Cold

I have a 2006 Acura TL w/nav. I've noticed that when my car is cold and I start it up the CD player will not work at all. The radio, XM, handsfree, and NAV all work fine. After warming the car up, I have to shut it off and restart it and the CD player works normally again. Has anyone had this type of problem before? Also I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the mods I did.

I have update the version 3.5 nav software with a new startup screen, Trip patch, and also used KennyC's version 3.4 nav.exe for removing the OK button. The patch for 3.5 wouldn't let me update the bin.

The problem with the CD player started after I update the NAV, but at the same time it's the first day it is actually cold here.

TIA,
Steve

Sounds like you need to take it in and have it looked at. The navi patches do not affect the operation of the stereo.

Good, I was hoping for an answer like that. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I did, as I haven't been able to find anyone with a similar problem on this forum.

Also do you know what the difference in version 3.4 to 3.5 is for the Nav unit? I wanted to know if I am loosing any features or anything.

the diffrence is that you get updated maps on the DVD compared to the old one. You don't gain nor lose any features.

Mine worked fine in the weather depicted below, so it sounds like it may be a specific problem as to your car.

Where are you and how cold?

Do you hear the cd player making any noise/movement? the cd could form some nice fog/condensation on it which it might have a problem being able to read.

It's actually not that cold right now...35-50 degrees. There is no sound from it. It reads CD - ERR then goes back to the radio. It won't even stay on the CD mode

pull the battery cable and let it reboot without your nav hacks and then see.
