Back on or around 9/24, I took my car into Sterling Acura in Austin because my CD changer stopped working. They ordered a part (basically the 6 CD changer unit), which they said usually takes a couple of days to come in. Well, that part still hasn't arrived, and channel-hopping XM is starting to bore me.

Yesterday I called the dear and was informed that they had it on "critical order", which is a state that oftentimes indicates that the part is on national backorder. I just wondered if anyone could verify that that's true.

Took six weeks for mine to come in. On the drive back from the dealer the new unit stopped working, too. Grr.

A service tech will be stopping at my house in about an hour to pick up the car so they can install a third unit tomorrow. This time the unit took about a week to come in.

The first unit had a disk jam. The second unit stops playing after about 2 songs, and randomly jumps disks. Third time's a charm or three strikes and your out. We'll see. I'm impressed the dealer (Criswell Acura in Annapolis, Maryland) is being accomodating enough to pick up the car at my house and drop off a loaner.

Note that with the exception of 1 disk that I burned myself (and I did not stick a label on it) these are commercial DVD-A's and CDs.
