Car starter & security...

Ok,

Complete stereo instal done!

Now I am looking at a car starter & maybe security system.

Any simple or even plug & play setups out there? I am pretty inclined car wise. Just did full stereo with the amp & L/O converter and speakers., etc....

Any suggestions or am I better to pay for something like this to be done?
I am ok with a weekend project.

Thanks,

If you don't have experience installing alarms and remote starters, pay someone to do it. If you do, you can easily make it a weekend project. There are several threads on here about this topic. Choose one of the well known brands like Compustar, Viper, etc. Make sure you get the relevant CANBUS interface module and you're good to go.

Unless you park outside a lot and are trying to protect contents or wheels skip the security. The factory immobilizer does a better job of keeping the car in place than an aftermarket alarm does, and I assume you have insurance so you are covered if it gets flatbedded.

My vote is for Compustar. Their stuff is some of the nicest on the market.

The security part is pretty much secondary. I park in a garage overnight and work is a pretty safe lot which I can actually see during the day.

Thanks. Ill look into comustar

if its automatic and a compustar and you are good with wiring you can do it, the bypass for our cars does the unlock, lock ,trunk and takes care of the oem alarm so you don't have to wire it seperately all together its like 10 wires i think 4 for the bypass and 5 or 6 for the starter and 1 for parking lights so not that bad. you just need to take your time find all the wires and then its easy.
