I've tried many times to pair either of my phones (Droid 3 and Iphone 4s) with my 2005 TL without any luck. I have gone through and cleared any existing phones in the system and I can go through the pairing process to the point where it's searching for the phone, but I never see the car show up on the phone itself. Any idea what the deal is?

 

Is the phone in discovery mode while the HFL is searching? I'm going to pair my iPhone 5 tomorrow, I hope it goes well.

 

Yep both phones had bluetooth turned on and discovery mode was on as well. I had them searching for an available bluetooth signal and the car would never come up (while I had the car in the pairing process itself).

My handsfree wasnt showing up when my iPhone 4 was searching for Bluetooth devices, try disconnecting the battery (vehicle battery) for 30+ minutes. It worked fine for me after I did that... once it shows up in your phone press the talk button, say "phone setup", then "pair", then make the 4 number code for the hands free. Once you set that first you will be able to enter it on your phone and it should connect
