Can't call thru HFL w/Blackberry Tour 9630

I got the BB about 2 months ago. The HFL could not find the BB, but I finally got the BB to search and find the HFL. It worked great.

About 3 days ago, when I tried to call a saved contact, the HFL said the phone is busy. It also gave the same "phone is busy" when I dialed thru the HFL. The only thing I can do is dial on the BB and transfer it to the HFL.

I decided to delete the bluetooth connection from the BB and reconnect it. Again, I only got it to work with the BB finding the HFL.

Unfortunately, I still can not make a call thru the HFL.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I made an error in my post.

The HFL says "phone in use".....not "phone is busy"

The Tour isn't compatible with the Handsfreelink setup in the TL.

Did you do a software upgrade on your phone as well? If not, check RIM's web site for any firmware/OS update for you phone. Sometimes does out of nowhere issues get resolved with software/firmware updates.

The tour does work with the HFL even though they say it isn't compatible. The only thing that doesn't work is the call waiting. If you are having trouble pairing do a battery pull on the BB. Mine has worked fine on all of the OS updates that Verizon has out out with the exception of call waiting via the steering wheel button. Just use the send button on the phone to go from one call to the other.

Glad to see you got it working. I haven't had any problems w/ my Tour as of yet...although I don't really use the HFL that much

I also got my Tour linked up without issue too. Occasionally, the bluetooth drops right when I answer the call, but then I just pick up the phone and talk, not a huge deal.

Post #1... go easy on a TL noob, but..

My tour was doing the same thing..ie.. couldnt answer an incoming call. I did some experimenting with the bluetooth options once the car and phone are connected... if you go into HFL bluetooth options and turn off the encryption, i found that worked for me..just an idea, but thought i would share.
