Can you turn off the "OK" message

Every time I start the car I have to say "OK" for the navigation system. Any way to disable this - I think I've seen the disclaimer enough!

You may have seen it, but other potential drivers of your car haven't.

Sigh ... This is an extremely old and very rehashed topic. See here.

Just press the cursor in control button in, it's not too strenuous.

Well...ok

I did search and obviously didn't put in the right combination, so that's why I asked. Thanks for the link.

I do disagree though with some of the points in the link (or in general) about "what's so hard with waiting 30 seconds" or however you want to paraphrase it. It not like I'm going to trade in my TL or something, but rather just an annoyance. Besides, if I just "get in and go" then I have to do some futzing once the car is moving.

BTW, disclaimer aside (which honestly I haven't read YET!!!), it won't really stop a lawsuit.

Mike

If you're complaining about the 30 seconds (or so) before hitting "OK", that's a different problem.

The 30 seconds is required for the Navi system to boot up and acquire location information from the GPS receiver.

Might as well accept it - Then you can just focus on having fun while driving!

Personally, I don't even have to think about the acknowledgement screen anymore. By the time I've pulled out of my garage, the "OK" screen is up and ready to go.

It's like the airbag warning labels on your visors, they have been there so long it is no longer noticable

I can understand needing to go thru the disclaimer screen to view the nav system, but why do I need to go thru it to get the audio displayed? E.g. if the audio screen was displayed when the car was last turned off, can't it appear by default when the car is restarted? None of the disclaimer text refers to the audio system.

i think that the screen is telling you to keep you eyes on the road, that includes the audio system. i dont have a TL yet (picking it up early next week) but that is what they say on some other cars

You don't.

I have pressed the "Audio" button to get the audio display up when the Navi is not enabled.
