Can you reset Bluetooth system?

You could clear all info/data stored in the Computer's Bluetooth system...
You'll lose all saved contacts, previously paired phones ... and that's probably it.
It'll be as if the HFL was never touched, so to say.
May I ask how/why you are having trouble pairing? What phone are you using?

what would be the best way to reset?
You can delete out any saved profiles in the HFL voice controlled menu. I did it to mine not long ago, the previous owner's profiles were actually still there 
iirc I did have to try it a few times to get my iPhone on 3.1.2 to sync up, but it works perfectly now.
