Can you enter a pin with the HFL after connecting to a number?

Curious, I've never tried it, but can we enter a pin/series of numbers after connecting to a phone number. This would be handy for conference calls and accessing voice mail msgs while in the car on the way to and from work.

Yes, just type it in on your phone when prompted.

You can voice command "SEND 1234" (or DIAL) where 1234 is your pin. It will ask you if you want to send 1234 and send it when you reply "yes". Somewhat of a pain, but it does work. If you have a particular number (like an extension) that you need to send often, you can save it in the phonebook and send it by name. Again, a pain, but it works. It would be much better if you could just enter a number to dial, some pauses, and the extension. Every cell phone I've owned would allow that, and/or allow two numbers to be linked.

The best way is to enter the "1234" PIN into the actual handsfree phonebook by storing "5-5-5-9-9-9-9-PAUSE-PAUSE-PAUSE-PAUSE-1-2-3-4"

You may have to play with the number of times you say "pause" to make it work right. Mine goes right to the new messages when I dial.

Actually you can send the whole string and it's quite easy. This is how I have it set up in my RL.

Say your extension is 3434

Your PIN is 123456

and you have to hit # after each entry.

I stored the following in my HFL.

Name: Log in voicemail
Contents: #3434#123456

So I'll say... "Dial voice mail"
after it connects, I'll say, "Send Log in voicemail"

and I'm in. You just have to store all the keystrokes you have to enter when going into your voicemail box.

Excellent - I didn't know you could say "pause". I'll give it a try, thanks.

Where did you find out about the PAUSE? I can't find it in the manual.

You can call your Verizon Wireless voicemail by saying *86 (star eight six).

PAUSE is not being recognized when I say it. But I know it takes it because I tried it before. I'll have to check the manual.

these are great tips.. the pound and star commands are good to know because work needs the "pound" and home needs the "star".

I can get the PAUSE to be accepted when I put a number in the phone book, but it doesn't seem to work. It dials everything up to the pauses, then stops and never dials the rest of the string.

Check with your manual. It might be different for the '07 system.

On a similar note, can you mute the microphone and just listen in with a "Mute" command? Or is there a button you can hit to mute? I'm on a lot of conference calls where listen more then I talk.

There is no pause mentioned in the manual, nor anything about dialing "#" or "*".
(for all it's vast size, there is a lot not mentioned anywhere in the manual set. Probably left out to make room for the endless legal warnings.)

It seems to recognize "pause", in the sense that you can say "one zero pause two" and is will take that as part of a phone number.

I just make a phone entry called, "PIN" and after connecting to my voice mail, I hit the Acura Phone button and say, "Send PIN."

"PAUSE" doesn't work on all phones. It caused my old v710 to drop the connexion. The only way to know for sure on your phone is to try it.

When I had the v710, I used the "Send" method noted above (for office voicemail, "Send Voicemail Extension" for the mailbox number followed by "Send Voicemail PIN" for the PIN). It worked well, so I still use it now that I have a RAZR because I'm too lazy to see if the pauses would work on the RAZR.

I created a number in the HFL called 'Voicemail' which is the same as my cell number. This automatically sends you to your voice mail account.
