Can someone recommend a quality 4 gauge amp kit for alpine mrp-m500?

I was told a 4 gauge amp kit was needed for my amp, the Alpine MRP-M500, but looking around, I've found some ranging in price from $30 to $90. I have no idea which ones a good deal and which is just poor quality. Also feel free to recommend a 8 gauge kit if you think it would work fine. It's just for a single 12" inch 1500 watt subwoofer.

I've used a Tsunami set with capacitor and all wiring and fuses included I bought off of ebay. I've been using it for over 4 years and it's been fine with no issues. Can't remember what I paid for it though.

A 4 gauge kit is definitely not needed for that amp. An 8 gauge kit is sufficient. I stock JL Audio and Stinger amp kits. I prefer Stinger over anything else because the cable is awesome and price is very nice as well.

PM me for pricing.

Being that I will be using a LOC, I'll need to make sure the kit includes RCA cables correct? Also since I'm having it on a switch, I'll need a remote wire, correct? I'm pretty new to car audio so correct me if I'm wrong. I assume this is whats different with a complete amp kit.

Yes, you will need, AND most kits include RCA's. Whether you're connecting them to a headunit or a LOC the amp needs a signal. The only time you wouldn't need the RCA's is if your amp has high freq. inputs (I can't remember the name exactly) in which case you wouldn't even need a LOC.

About a switch..not sure what you mean. No matter what you need a remote for the amp though because it needs something to tell it to turn on.

A complete kit should have all you need.

Well I went to a local car stereo store and when they were talking about what equipment I would need, they asked if I wanted a remote switch for it so I could turn it on and off when needed. I'm wondering can I have a switch to turn it on and off manually and also have it connected to the car so it turns on with the car? This may sound a little confusing

You can put a switch inline with your remote turn-on wire. That way you could shut it off when you wanted. I bet a certain top notch vendor could wire a switch inline for you if you wanted.

well thank you everyone for your help, it helped a lot. I ended up going to my local car audio store and seeing what they had, I ended up with this kit the "QK4" from Quantum Audio. While I've never heard of the company, I'm pretty sure I got a good deal, for $35, it's a 4 gauge kit. From http://www.quantumaudio.net/accampkits.htm
It includes:
7’ 4 AWG clear blue tinned and braided STRANDFLEX hexagon power cable
3’ 4 AWG clear silver tinned and braided STRANDFLEX hexagon ground cable
17’ STRANDFLEX high strand double shielded ultra twist RCA cable
17’ 18 AWG blue remote turn on cable
25’ 16 AWG blue STRANDFLEX speaker cable (round/square easy touch polarity identification)
STRANDFLEX mini ANL fuse holder
Chrome 100 amp mini ANL fuse
6’ black split loom
Ring terminals, spade terminals, snap grommet

Can you guys please check this out before I open it? Thanks

EDIT: if it's not that great, would I be better off just going with what I had planned? Which is the Stinger SHK281 http://www.stingerelectronics.com/pr...19&ParentID=18 which is only an 8 gauge and makes it harder if I decide to upgrade in the future?
