Camera Died, Need Replacement.

Hey All,

My camera mod finally died. It was a modification to a 2006 TL with DOMs box and a Wendy Camera. When I switch the car into reverse it still swaps inputs on the DOMs box, but the screen is blank. I think the camera died. Can anyone recommend a replacement or have any other ideas as to what could be wrong?

Anyone? I have seen some people using the Boyo VTK-350, but it seems that it doesn't fit well. I was looking for something that is a more direct replacement for the Wendy camera? Any suggestions?

I don't know what a Wendy camera is, but the Kenwood CMOS-300 looks almost identical to the stock camera on my 07.

I like that camera a lot. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the power supply. I think I could just run it off of the line that the DOMs unit is on, but I didn't want to overload anything. Would that work?

IIRC it is fused at like 5 amps, so very little current draw.

Looks like a nice setup. Anyone used this unit before? Any pics of it installed, feedback on image quality?

Thx

I installed one on an RL for a customer. It looks like a $59 camera.

I have the kenwood CMOS-200 for the rear
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...H3GKNDQKFCJKSY

And the Audiovox Car ACA200W for the front
http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-ACA20...4603558&sr=1-1

Both are great cameras, small easy to mount and come with all the cable you need. The Kenwood have a power regulator too that one will definitely last forever but you gotta pay for quality.

The question for me is now CMOS-300 or CMOS-200. The CMOS-300 looks awesome, but it is also a lot more money than the CMOS-200.

I was on the fence about the CMOS-300 too but after watching several videos of the camera angles I realized the camera doesn't give you any more of a view when you switch modes it just distorts the image differently. After that realization it couldn't justify the insane price!

That's basically where I am at... Plus then I don't have to run the cable for the controller.
