Fellow Bostonians,

I am still running my original 2004 TL and GPS dvd. Can anyone verify if the latest updated can handle Boston, as the old one is worthless. ie. Big dig....

From what I understand, the info on the latest dvds are info from 2 years back. If you want a precise map of today, you'll probably have to wait until 2008 comes out. Mine is an 05 and I don't even have my friend's street listed. He had his house built last year. My friend has an 06 RL and he doesn't have my address, which is a year old, but has his address. So, it takes about 2 years for present updates. I believe the Big Dig is still going on, so who knows when we will have a good map for it.

 

2 years sound about right. I can't find newly built (a year or so old) houses on navi.

 

If any of you have version 3.50 (this year's update), could you zoom in on Montreal and tell me if coverage still cuts off just to the northwest? I know they added Quebec City as a verified area, so I'm curious whether they've added any other parts of the province as UNverified areas (their web page doesn't say).

 

I'm not sure what you would like me to test out, but my car is a 2006 I just picked up a month ago. I have been through Boston several times and it seems pretty up to date. (My Garming iQue used to have me all over the place with the Big Dig) Let me know what you want me to test out

 

My biggest gripe right now is that my DVD doesn't even have the new tunnel... nada
