Bluetooth : Possible to operate like a regular BT headset?

When dialing from my phone in my car, I always get "Audio transferred to phone" after inputting numbers,

Is there a way to get it to act like a regular Bluetooth Headset, where you dial from phone, and audio automatically transfers to your "headset" or HFL unit?

I don't like using voice commands to dial all the time, I can dial quickly w/o looking at my phone.

Has any one figured this out?

I only know of two ways to call without dialing on the HFL:
1) Dial on the phone, then push the HFL button and say "transfer" while the other line is ringing/call is in progress, or
2) Dial on the phone, hang up, push the HFL and say "redial."

Those are the only ways there are, I prefer option 1
