Bluetooth phone/ 06TL question

One more quick question pleae. I noticed when my phone is powered on and I get into the TL and start it the car recognizes the phone right away, no problem. Here is the problem Im having. I now notice that if im in the car driving and notice my phone is off and turn it on the car will not recognize and pair the whole trip. The question is does the car only look for bluetooth devices only when starting the car? Chuck

It would be helpful if you told us what kind of phone you have.

Sounds like if anything your phone isn't fully compatible with the car. I can walk away from my running car (out of range of car) and come back and my phone will pair back up as I get in range.

For tested compatible phones look at this link. Acura keeps it pretty current

Ok

Ok Im thinking the same thing. I havent tried where you walk away from the car and then go back to it while its running, the only problem I have is turning the phone on after I've started the car and was driving or sitting for a while. I start work 4AM and sometimes Im so tired when I leave that I forgot to turn my phone and realize after 10-15 minutes of driving that the phone is off, so when I power up the phone it doesnt sync, I have to force it to do it from the phone itself, know what I mean? Thanks for the reply.

I read some talk of that on another forum. I personally have never tried that. I leave my phone on 24/7 so I've never had that problem.

I wake up at 4am to go to work, so I know what you mean about being tired.

Ok

Yeah I turn my phone off when I go to bed to charge it and sometimed dont want to be bothered Ha-HA, but it gets frustrating that if by chance you go to turn on the phone after you've been driving it doesnt pair. Weird

I have the Motorola e815 and I know what crwmlw is experiencing with the phone. I intentionally left my phone "off" this morning. When I started the car, I noticed the phone icon was missing in the display. I then turned "on" the phone and still nothing came up. I had to go to the phone bluetooth setting and click on search. Then they paired up.

I usually have my phone on before I start the car. So this is the first time I had to mess with the phone settings.

it's most likely your phone (which you haven't stated which model you have yet)

I use a sony s710a, and it works great. i can turn my phone on after the car is already running and it will connect as soon as it boots up.

same with walking away and coming back, always connects when in range.

although sometimes it's annoying that i go in my house after parking my car in the garage and it's still connected to the car until i turn my phone off/on

I've never had this particular problem, so this is a shot in the dark. Try hitting the phone button on the steering wheel and say, "find next phone." That might work and it's a lot easier than fooling around with the phone.

I tried it yesterday and my when I powered up my Sprint Treo 650 (1.12a) the car immediately recognized it, and I got the phone icon.

Sounds like a problem with the phone not being 100% compatible.

I got the e815 on 12/08/05, so it is fairly new.
