Bluetooth not working.

Unfortunately, I did not test the bluetooth on my car to see if it's working before I bought it. It's simply not working at all. Zero response from the buttons for it. Is this as simple as a busted fuse possibly? What things should I look for to diagnose the cause?

Thanks.

You can research the forum for the bake option. My bluetooth on my 08 TL-s when out one day, I decide to try the bake method and I tell you what it work. Save me 200 dollars for a new unit. Take the bluetooth unit out and bake it for 8 minutes at 350.

Bluetooth fail

Wait what!! Are you seriously recommending baking the Bluetooth in the oven to fix it? How does that fix it?

Bake fixes solder

Pan
Baking it resets the solder paste by liquefying then resetting when it cools which may fix a circuit issue.

I tried this last night and did mine at 385 for 8min and at about the 7min mark I started to hear some of the components off the HFL unit hitting the bottom of my oven and when I took it out solder had oozed out from around some of the chips mounted on the board. I contacted ack today and he said he had a friend that could repair them for $85 plus shipping. I know my unit is ruined but if I was to do it again maybe try 350 and 7min or just contact him and get it repaired. The cheapest I could find a used one was $175 or buy a new one for $220

I just went through it all recently myself. I researched all the threads to include the bake method. I even tried it myself, but maybe I didn't trust it enough when I had it in the oven. It didn't work for me even though there's a few testimonials saying it works. I may try it later just for kicks. I bought a new one for $186 ($176+$10s&h) from acurapartsforless.com. They give you the whole unit--not just the board which makes replacing it a 5-minute job but now all my problems have been resolved.

Hey OP - would you like the '04 repair manual? maybe you can diagnose from that?

all aside- i can see where the bake method would work - Im a EE and if the solder joints went bad over the years this would help.... but - the manual might help diagnose otherwise... j/s...

I'd replace the 220uF first. It worked for me.

I've noticed a trend with baking things from our cars. I think people on this forum just like putting car parts in the oven! lol. If it works it works though, as scary as it may be.
