Bluetooth and Navigation
Is it possible to install a navigation system to a 5AT/non-Navi TL? I regret not getting the NAVI version but no point in complaining now. I like my car now and don't want to trade it in for a 5AT/NAVI. So again, back to my question, can I have bluetooth enabled or NAVI installed in my car? I'm more interested with the bluetooth functionality. Please let me know what my options are.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Bluetooth is enabled for the same thing in NAVI and non-NAVI cars (with the small exception of losing dial-from-Yellow Pages capability from data on navi discs).
Regarding installing a navi system, you'd have to look to third-party (Garmin, etc.) units. It won't be as tightly integrated - it's just an aftermarket navi system.

Are you sure you do not have BT? BlueTooth is a stock feature for all TLs. Nothing to do with Nav or non-nav.
About installing Nav in your car, there are lot of after market Nav options you can get. However, if you are talking about the OEM Nav, it will be very difficult and expensive to do, if can be done.

I saw the instructions in the Owner's Manual, but I don't have those buttons on my steering wheel. Is this one of the features that the 5AT Canadian model did not get... aggghhh??? Anybody know if I can still use my phone even if I don't have this buttons?

In Canada the TL comes in 3 trim levels:
1 - Base; no bluetooth or Navi. Available only in 5AT tranny
2 - Dynamic; Bluetooth, no navi, Brembo brakes, performance tires. Available only in 6MT
3 - Navi; Bluetooth, navi but no brembo brakes or performance tires. available only in 5AT
#3 is mine, Jonrey probably has #1

- I think they also have differences interior and exterior color combos...
I'm glad I got option #4 (US)
Bluetooth, NAVI, 6MT and Brembo brakes...
(but no daylight running lamps)
I wonder if people can buy it in the US, and then move up to Canada and bring their cars and have it service over there...
Or buy it from another person who lives in the US and drive it up there...

The MSRP is lower in Canada once you factor in conversion rates. And then there's customs and taxes you also have to pay. So your U.S. market TL will cost a lot more to import than if you bought a Canadian market TL.
I think the idea behind the 3 trim lineup for the TL is to simplify the marketing. They probably figured they wouldn't sell that many in Canada so they limited the TL lineup to only 3 choices. That way you don't have a bunch of special model TLs piled up at the dealerships.
They probably figured that 5AT TLs will sell better than the 6MT ones which is why 2 of the trims are with 5AT only. The "Dynamic" model isn't all that common and they're not selling all that much either. 5AT non-navs are the most common and even 5AT Navs are more common than the Dynamics.

i RTFM and the information is not there since the Canadian model that I have does not come with the F-ing phone controls. If you read the F-ing thread first, you should have known that. What I need is a work around on how I can enable it. :fingerfawk:
