Bluetooth and Battery Consumption

I have an Ericsson T637 and I leave the Bluetooth on all the time.
Is this causing my phone battery to drain more quickly than if I shut it off when I'm not in my TL?
I assume it is but does anyone know how much more quickly the battery will drain?
I really don't want to have to keep turning it on and off all the time.

Bluetooth (as well as infrared) causes a constant battery drain. the amount and time depends on the phone. My phone (Nokia 6820) battery life is about 1/3 less when not using bluetooth.

Since I also use a bluetooth headset I keep my phone in bt all the time. My battery life is about 1/3 less, but it's worth it.

My SE T610 could stay 4~5 days if not having BT on all the time and not using HFL. Now, mine is needed to be charged every 3 days while BT is always on and using HFL. HFL drains battery too.

I think my battery isn't too bad.

While I've only had my phone a few days, it seems like my T637 is about the same; it looks like I'll get 3 days out of a charge w/Bluetooth on all the time.
I'll have to experiment and leave it off for one full charge and see what I get without Bluetooth.

When I first picked up my V600 and before I paired it with the car (no Bluetooth), the phone ran a few days on a charge.

After pairing and therefore enabling Bluetooth, the phone won't make two days on single charge so I charge it every night.

This is my second V600 so I think it's just how they work. I wish someone technical could explain what's going on.

How much more power does Bluetooth consume even when there's no PC/car to communicate with?

How much more power does Bluetooth consume when linked with the car versus Bluetooth off?

How much more power does Bluetooth consume when using the phone through the car versus a non-Bluetooth call?
