Actually, I don't think the Razr V3xx is even certified as compatible for use with the TL's - only the V3i and V3r are compatible (I have one of those versions) per the handsfreelink.com site. The V3xx is the newest of the Razr series and has the high speed connectivity software which causes the incompatibility, IIRC.

Otherwise, try another Motorola phone to see if that works well. If so, it's the phone. If the alternate phone still doesn't work, it's the HFL.

Welcome to AZ.

Hands Free Dropped calls and choppy reception

Thanks for the reply, I'm in a quandry. Per the site, this phone won't work with the car. But, It does, ????? per ATT the phone works with this car, per Acura personel, it works, Per this site, it will not work with this car??? I changed phones to get a better one for the car, Got this one with advice from ATT, now with your help, I find a site that says this phone isn't compatible with this car.
My other phone, was new the same day car was, is 'per the site' compatible, it has same problem the new one has.
I'm stumped. If I use a Blue tooth ear device, drive down the same freeway, no problem. The same route, using the Hands Free, bad bad bad. Person on other end, hears very broken chatter, drop calls 3 out of 4 times.
Any one with an answer??? Again thanks for your reply.
Bill

Bad reception, bad sound transmission appears to be a bad HFL unit on the car; a bad HFL would just be pulled out and replaced.

Generally, incompatible cells do not degrade phone reception, but either do not pair up with the system or certain features will not work (answering with the car HFL, dialing through the HFL, etc.).

FWIW, there are different Bluetooth standards, so whether a headset works is unrelated to whether a particular car's system works.

You will need to visit the dealer and show it the problem- possibly by calling the service advisor using your HFL when he's writing up the issue. G/L.

Blue tooth question

Hey Guys, Thanks
Better info here than I've gotten from Acura, Blue tooth, or AT&T.
I've called service dept from car couple times, will try that again. It is an intermittant problem and I do understand those are the most difficult to solve. I'm normally a very positive person so please don't think I'm a chronic complainer. :-)
Pulled out my old phone also, am gonna try that. Wife has new blackberry. (last year's model, new phone, replaced her phone also, thinking possibly, that was her problem)
Gonna do a bit more research re AT&T.
Yes, my wife and I both have AT&T.
You guys have a great day

My wife and I are frustrated with the HFL on both cars. One of the major factors when we got these cars was HFL as CA was going 'only hands free' in July of 08.
We thought we had done our due diligence on Blue tooth, and cars. You would think with AT&T as a service, Acura and Lexus as the cars, we would have as good as we could get.
Not so!!!

One other suggestion: go back to your dealers and have them check the HFL operation. If your phones are fully compatible, it may be a bad HFL that needs replacement.
FWIW, I have a Razr on AT&T and rarely drop calls in LA County/SoCal on my HFL- maybe three times in the last six months??

G/L.
