Blitzsafe Adapter WORKS!!
So I have finally installed the Blitzsafe adapter. It appears to work pretty well. On my creative muvo it sounds good, but on my big archos mps player it sounds better, it is much louder on this player, louder than my cds even.
A couple things I have noticed when you switch to the mp3:
-Volume where AC, clock, display is does not show up in mp3 mode like in cd mode.
-You have controls come up on Navi, when you hit the cd button for mp3, but you cannot actually control anything, this was expected.
-Initially, at some pt when i was playing around, when i hit the cd button it would not switch over to mp3 until i ejected the cd. But this does not seem to be a problem right now, I will play with it some more to see if I can find out if there is actually a problem.
Advice for install:
-Remove Aluminum/Carbon Strips
-Pull off air vents. Do this by working them from the right with a prying tool, and move up and around while pulling on it. once you get the right side of it will be easy to pry the rest off.
-Once vents are off, there are 4 silver plates with screws in at the top and either side of volume/scan knobs. Remove these, best to use a magnetic screw driver for side ones so you dont drop screws down.
-Try to unclip side grey trim, that goes down into footwell by glove box (to do this you will have to remove the glove box). I dont think its necessary to do this, just makes things easier. It would be alot easier to just remove all console trim and panelling if you do not want to ding anything in prying it.
-Once you have 4 silver screws out, you need to pry between the 2 compartments with push doors that are below head unit, and the head unit itself. They are clipped together.
-Once un clipped, to pull it out, you will need to pry grey side trim away to get silver plates out (they prevent you from just pulling it right out). There are also some tabs from the trim of the compartments (I believe a screw was going through this, so unscrew those) you will need to pry those down in order to lift nav up and out.
-Once out, plug in blitzsafe. Probably drop it down to the right of the head unit. Thats where mine is, alot of room there, and have the audio cable outputs point towards inside of car, gives you more slack.
-Attach an audio Y cable (mini to rcas) to RCAs from blitzsafe. Tape up with some electrical tape. And just run it through area where carbon trim was. Will need to unscrew screws that hold cupholder and other console parts so that you can get the cable down in there out of the way.
I passed my cable into glove box through whole where light is. will cut notch in there when i have time.
hope this helps

I'm surprised it still has those problems. I have those problems with the first generation Blitzsafe adapter I'm using and I was hoping the next generation would fix all that. I also have the problem of HandsFreeLink not working properly when the head unit is on CD-C mode (Blitzsafe). Can you confirm that is does now work with HFL? Do you have a Bluetooth cell-phone?
Overall, I'd say I'm not that encouraged by this news.
At least you don't have to splice the yellow wire anymore...

The cons were expected. The navigation headunit was not programmed to say "MP3" on the mini-display. It will just say "CD-C" when you have another source hooked up, such as a DVD player, MP3 player, computer sound, etc. Also, you can't control anything from the headunit when it is in "CD-C" mode. You have to use the actual MP3 player or DVD player. I would buy this just so that I don't get that annoying "whining" sound when I rev my engine, and so that the sound output from XM wasn't decreased. Will this adapter work with XM-equipped TLs and Accords (without deleting the XM)?

The issue where the volume is not displayed on the center console is not right. It should display CD-C and the volume change whenever it happens. If the new Blitzsafe adapter is like the old one, the audio portion of the center console display gets blanked out and I believe that's what he's talking about. It happens on mine all the time. Sometimes the CD-C appears, but most of the time not. It's very frustrating... I'm thinking that maybe gb was shipped the old Blitzsafe adapter... but I guess not since he doesn't have to do the yellow-wire splicing thing.

I have a bluetooth phone, that seems to work fine, i will double check though. With the volume thing, it does show on navigation its just next to where the clock is on the display above the navi, it says CD-C and then there is a blank section, when you adjust volume it does not show there but it shows it on navi. Not the end of the world. Its not perfect. but it does the job with great sound quality. Perfect would be TL coming with mp3 input stock, and having fully integrated controls in navi that show names of songs. I think we are few years from that being that only some cars have that now. (ones with alpines)

Update: HFL works fine with this adapter. Also it appears the volume is now coming up on the display now. I just noticed it this morning. I dunno why this changed. But I will keep my eye on it for a couple of weeks and let you know if this adapter is intermittent.

Wow, this is all very encouraging! Looks like they worked out all the bugs! WOOHOO!!
Time to order one... or maybe wait for the iPod one. Thing is, I have a AV switcher so I want to have more audio sources than just the iPod. But I'm sure the iPod one can be hacked to accept a standard audio input... we'll have to see.

is the XM cut off? or the volume decreased by half. You must have the one that cuts off the XM because Blitzsafe hasn't finished their prototype yet. The guys at Blitzsafe told me that they are also in the process of having a box compatible with the ipod. I don't have one so I didn't care.

Well, about the XM harness... if the harness in the trunk has all the necessary wires (audio/bus/ground/power), then you could splice it into that harness no problem. But you wouldn't be able to just PLUG it in... It does sound like a GREAT idea though!

Or maybe you could just call up blitzsafe, on the contact us page, and call to order. Maybe say something like, "I would like to order the adapter for my car, I drive a 2005 Acura TL." Then they will go, "Ok sir, that adapter is $100, how would you like it shipped?" I look at this stuff at work, I dont have the model number with me. You asked where i got it, i told you, use some common sense as I stated, and call the damn number to order it. You obiviusly have the internet, all you had to do was type in Blitzsafe adapter and it will come up and then you can call them, it would have been alot faster to do that then posting here with attitude, and you would have got 100% the correct model number from them. Your tone is not appreciated.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry if I hurt your precious feelings.....obviously I am not as smart and important as you. I am sorry that I asked for a straight answer and it was too much to ask for a link.
I am so sorry for being not as smart as you ............
So excuse me if I say

I don't think any of these links are, (albeit they all disable XM), for the 05 TL's. This version 2 just came out, has the iPod connector w/ long cable, (not RCA ends) AND it's only $70 . . . but none say they're for the TL's.

I think the TL was accidentally left off the list on the "enfig" site. That same Blitzsafe model number is listed on the "logjam" site as compatible with the TL....
http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/blitzhonauxdmxv2.html
It's just more $$ at logjam. I ordered mine through the "enfig" site anyway. I'll let you guys know how it works out. But XM is not an issue for me as I'm in Canada.

for those of use with XM..... there has got to be a way that we can mod this thing (put an on/off switch on it) so that we can still use XM. i have yet to order one of these. i think im gonna try and get my hands on one by next week. right now i have cut a spare iPod cable to see if i can make a power and RCA jacks to use in my car
personally, i dont know how much longer i want to keep XM, they gave me a bunch of shit when i called customer service. jackass on the phone had a script, and if i asked him a question he couldnt answer, he repeated the answer to the previous question. then he put me on hold for 10 minutes then came back and got my phone number and said a manager would call me back.

I trust these guys... he suggested the following:
http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/piehon03pcson.html
with the additional harness below it.
