Blew my sub... Any replacement suggestions?

i wouldn't bother to replace the stock sub. i've read it's too much effort and little gain to put anything on that rear deck. i would go for a trunk enclosure set up. even the cheapest and less elegant enclosure will merit better low end than the oem sub location.

I would remove your old oem sub and install a system in the trunk with a nice enclosure. If you are gonna do the work to remover the rear sub you mights as well hook up a system while your at it.

Get the OEM one if your just looking to drop something in the stock location. Not too many 8" 2ohm free air subs out there that the tiny little underpowered stock amp can drive.

I just "dropped in" the Pioneer TSSW841D and amped it with a 240x1 bridged 2-channel amp. It sounds quite good, (much better than the stock one) and does not take up ANY trunk space except for the amp. However, do not expect to unscrew the stock one and screw this one in. You'll need 6 new holes and i'd recommend some dnyamat for the deck lid. Otherwise, great stock look and much better sound quality.

After taking the rear deck and subs in and out in and out in and out in and out atleast 10times in the the past 9months. I gave up and kept the stock sub. and use LOC with aftermarket amp and two 10". Aftermarket JL12" used....too heavy.
Toooo much rattle if you go aftermarket 8" subs on stock location, even with dynomatt etc. The rattle is nasty and annoying. If replacing all stock speakers with aftermarket? ( I used MBquarts...tooo much engine noise or hissing if using with the stock deck) All that work and time, In the end I replaced all back to stock. LOL.
