BlackBerry Torch Problem

I have a company provided BlackBerry Torch 9800, and for company security reasons it cannot be placed in discoverable mode (they also deactivated the camera on it and prevent apps/music from being downloaded - but it is a free phone).

I have been able to pair it by having the phone find my car (’07 TL Nav) but I cannot call out using the phone. I can receive calls to the phone and talk via my Hands Free link, and dial numbers entered by voice command. However, if I dial from the phone, it doesn’t come through the car speakers only the phone. My old company provided regular cellphone worked perfect with the Hands Free setup, but that phone could be placed in discoverable mode.

I called Acura and they could not solve the problem.

try transferring your phone book to the car and use the car to initiate the phone call. otherwise when you place a call on the phone, you have to transfer call to car bt.

Dial the number on phone, let it ring and once the phone is connected, hit the HFL button and say "Transfer" 2-3 seconds later it should transfer the call to HFL.

Thanks. The "transfer" approach, while an added step, works.

Also, for reasons unknown, I can not download my phonebook to the nav system.

I'm going to assume your company's lockdown of your phone is to blame. There may be different bluetooth protocols in your Blackberry than your previous phone.
