Can you charge your bberry through the power adapter?

Must the bberry Bluetooth signal be toggled on repeatedly or is it possible to leave it running 24/7?

no the signal doesn't have to be toggled on.. you can set to automatic.. also you have to set another option to accept the connection with you have to accept it manuall when the car detects the phone.. it's easier to do than it sounds..

I didn't understand your answer.

I got my 7290 today, pair'ed it up first try, got signal strength/battery/phone symbol. I've got it set to constantly search for bluetooth, but when it finds the connection I still have to manually accept the the connection. Where is the auto setting?? I didn't grab the manual/cd, and i've searched the menu's in the 7290, where's it hidden??

TIA

Im thinking of getting the blackberry 7290 from cingular. How's the sound quality? Does this phone answer without you needing to transfer call back to hfl?

Sound quality isn't too bad, just about the same as my T68i. I don't quite understand your second question.

I had a v600 that would transfer call to the phone when you hit the answer button on the steering wheel instead of the the call staying in the cars handfree link sys. So I had to hit the button again and say transfer before I could talk over handsfree system in car

I never had that problem with the v600 nor do I have it with my new 7290. If HFL is active (as shown by the phone icon in the dash display), I press the phone button on steering column and answer the call. (I do not get caller ID on the incoming call, just battery and signal strength indicators in the MID.) To transfer to the 7290 and leave the car, I do as you describe. Press the steering column button and say transfer.

I haven't quite figured out how to initiate a call from the 7290 and transfer it to the HFL system, but I imagine it's the same. My 7290 does a better job of dialing my voicemail and entering the correct code for my mailbox and PIN than the TL HFL does.

Hope this helps.

Cingular Blackberry 7290

2005 TL...mine works great. My only beef is that the incoming phone number doesn't get displayed in the MID. So I have to glance down at my handset to see who's calling. I was using a Siemens S56 previously and that phone would actually display the number in the MID.

Unhappy

My Blackberry 7290 worked perfectly with my '04 TL with no problems. I did have a problem with my HFL malfunctioning; but the dealer replaced the HFL module and that problm went away.

Word to the wise: Stay with the 7290 for now. My company upgraded me to the Blackberry 8700c a few days ago. It pairs no problem with the car, but it connects/disconnects from the HFL every few seconds non-stop. HFL Tech Support can't help me, they say they have not tested the new phone and have no plans to do so anytime soon. The dealer can't help. I've conacted RIM tech support for help. Will post if I get a reply.
