Which is the better amp install?
ok so i've been looking throughout the threads and i've found a few different ways everyone hooked their aftermarket amp and subs to their TL. I was wondering which is the better solution to installing aftermarket amp and subs?
1st way i've found people do is unhook the stock sub, hook the aftermarket amp to the stock sub wires, connecting the remote wire to the fuse box in the kick door, and running the power wire through the firewall and up to the trunk.
2nd way is people tapping into the stock amp. unhook the remote wire to the aftermarket amp, and run another power wire the same way described above and also unhook the stock sub.
I'm wondering which was is the better way? or is there really a difference between the 2?

Both options you described are basically the same thing.
If you tap the factory amp remote wire you will need a line voltage trigger (LVT) because that wire doesn't have enough voltage to serve as a turn on lead. Even if you use an LVT, the amps will remain on as long as the car is running, since the factory amp needs to be on constantly to power HFL and Navi voice.
I would recommend removing the stock sub, running a remote wire from the fuse box (get an add-a-circuit), and connect a line output converter (LOC) to the sub speaker wire so it can bring the level down to pre-amp level. Then connect the RCAs from the LOC to the aftermarket sub amp.
