Best way to convert DVD-V to DVD-A or DTS?

With my Peter Gabriel SWL disc, I used DVDAE and ripped the DTS soundtrack (not the AC-3). I _think_ the DTS sounds better than the AC-3 (I think svtmike said the same thing).

I selected all the tracks (except the first one) and then selected the "WAV PCM Uncompressed Wave" encoder. I set the sample rate to 48,000, channels to all 6 channels, and the bits per to 16 bits. I also checked the box for "Save each channel into separate file"

On the next screen, check "Split tracks by chapter" and the overwrite checkbox if you need to. I did not enable the normalization. That takes longer to rip. Select the output location too.

On the next screen, raise the thread priority to speed up the ripping, and select start.

When the process is complete, use DiscWelder to make your DVD-A. That is pretty straightforward. You add each channel of each track one at a time. When that is done, burn your project to a DVD-R. Enjoy your new 5.1 disc.
