I use an Eclipse XA5000, Class D, 5-channel amp. It's 50w x 4 and 300w x1 at 4 ohms. I am have been very happy with it but I don't need super loud, just clean.

Not sure where you get this notion from bro. Unless your thinking along the lines of crazy power/SPL. I know plenty of people, including my self that have or do run 5ch amps. I've won sq+ comps with my system in my old car running a 5ch.

Like said originally, it depends on each and every persons wants/needs.

what about the xd 700/5 ?...i mean i would love to get the hd900/5 but it's kinda of expensive...as for the xd which about half the price and has pretty much all the important features as the HD minus the power....but i havent seen many reviews on it...

anyone heard or tried these ?
