beginnings of a full stereo build

Beginning of a full stereo build for my recently acquired '08 Type-S 6sp MT. It's been 20 years since I sold my 94' gsr and had forgotten how much fun it was with a manual. Baselined it and beginning simple mods.
Stereo will be the one big non-performance item for me this winter/spring.

A few thanks to these threads for inspiration:

Before tearing into the dash I wanted some help on a few items. I did quite a few searches but not finding enough info. I'll have to eventually have to try these out and measure these myself but if anyone has the info, much appreciated sharing:

Question 1: A/C Switch Assemblies - are these fully compatible from one year to the next and nav and non-nav???

See image. On a parts query I'm getting different part numbers depending on the nav, non-nav and year but they all match for 'fitment' in a parts filter from year to year.

Question 2: thickness of nav unit - anyone have one around or measured it - looking for face of bezel to backside of nav unit as shown???

Question 3: how much clearance behind the nav unit???

Is the clearance more or less the thickness of the couplers or is there more space.
Just trying to gauge how much room behind it.

Any info much appreciated.
Mike
