Battery Question

So I have this battery in my car

I would like to run a system a fairly power one maybe 3000 watts 3-4 amps i would like to run this audio XS as asecondary in the trunk and wire them in parallel but ive read mixed things about running to different batteries. is it harmful since there not the same brand?

or is it ok since there both AGM?

A "proper" install will use some type of isolator between the two batteries. This helps prevent differences in battery voltages from draining the batteries.

I have seen people run them hard wired in parallel with no reported issues. Unless you plan on running the system with the car off, I am not sure you even need a 2nd battery.

really? I thought that would be a little much for one battery I don't want to have anything struggling or draining or dimming.

If the car is running the alternator would be your first culprit. The alternator puts out 14v whereas the battery is sitting at 12v. If your system is demanding enough to where it is dipping down to 12v to make use of the battery's power then you're already in the zone of struggling or draining or dimming. Have the second battery will increase the limited buffer you have of the batteries draining but that would be it really. Adding a second battery won't have any effect on dimming or struggling if the car is running. If you find that you're suffering from dimming or struggling while the car is running your alternator is what would need upgrading.

I'm not sure how much extra our car can handle, I do know that I'm running 2 amps, a 1000W and 1800W, in my car with no problem though so you'll probably be fine.

Having a 2nd battery will allow you to play you music longer with the car off before it goes dead however.

thank you for that. any particularly popular alternator upgrade options? I remember when I had a 6th gen accord the odyssey alt went right in bolt on as a direct swap

also a thing to consider; its not a continuous 3000 watts that your amp will output.

the amp is like what 120 RMS?

and no, I dont believe any one builds a higher output alternator for the TL.
