The blue LED back lighting on the center stack is cool (like the ones around the two big volume and tuning knobs). But I don't have back lighting for the joystick button on the nav, and the 5 push buttons that are located below and between the two big knobs (they are the scan, rpt, seek etc buttons). Are they supposed to be backlit?

and those five buttons should be lit on top of the buttons, but not he buttons themselves..

 

The reason I asked is because I just saw a pic posted by one of the members who installed a dvd player on the nav, and the pic shows that those buttons are backlit. I don't know how to cut and paste that pic here, but you can click on the link below to see what I mean. Maybe we have been short changed

I think you are seeing the over-head blue LED that is reflecting off the surface of the buttons and joystick. The long camera exposure is allowing the reflected light to show up.
The "full-view" picture shows this the best because the "lights" on the 5 filver buttons are obviously on the top edge of the buttons....

Backlighting those controls would be super cool tho.....
