An Aux in option for 05 TL with Navi
An Aux in option for 05 TL with Navi
I have been searching around and can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Does anyone have a link for an item that I can:
Play my music through a 3.5 jack aux in (preferabbly not IPOD) I prefer a that I can plug my mp3 player into
And it would be way cool if it displays somewhere like where the XM radio stations show up or on the navi screen
It would also be cool if it pauses if I recieve an incoming call
If you know of any products that do one or all of these please reply with the link. I really would like to quit hearing the static from my FM modulator.

well you do have couple options:
1> Neo Audio (ipod + aux)
but wait no display via the 3.5 mm jack. the 3.5 mm jack just puts out stereo voice output.....no data going through it.....also when you get a call the music will stop and then resume.....what I mean is you mp3 player wont get paused because 3.5mm for stereo audio output only....not command signals such as play and pause can go through it.....
thats why in all the latest cd receivers which are ipod ready have a usb connector and not a 3.5mm jack.....

You can play video out of the 3.5mm on an iPod using a 3.5mm input to iPod cable that outputs to A/V (red, yellow, white) cables.
Some Best Buy guy told me it's impossible and then I walked to the cables section, found and bought the cable, and hooked it up to a Pioneer radio with red/white stereo and to a back-up monitor with the yellow audio. Then I played a music video that was on the iPod and heard and viewed the video through my system.

You may want to look into the USA SPEC part no. PA11-Hond2y. It will work the Acura/Honda radios with Nav, CD Changer, and XM units. You can control the first 5 playlist from the radio and add an additional aux input for generic mp3 player for Ipod through 3.5mm headphone jack.
It's a plug and play unit. Can't mess up.

Just get the P.I.E. X3 and be done with it. It will give you 3 inputs. The other units suggested in this thread are only beneficial to you if you own an iPod, but these unit will give you text, however only from the iPod.
You'r best bet is to go with the P.I.E. X3 and still be able to plug in an iPod through the headphone jack. You can look at the thread I posted on my iPhone 3G setup and I used the P.I.E. X3 to do it. And depending on how fancy you wanna get, for an extra 18 bux you can get a panel mounting aux in jack to put in so that it looks like it was dealer installed, I just ordered that and will put it in a few days.

Peripheral PXAMG -- you'll have ipod integration and any non-ipod integration... $130.00 on ebay. You can place the input wire in the center armrest, the glove box... where ever.
if an mp3 player is just hooked up to an audio receiver via mini-stereo plug, there is not a way for other data to be transmitted (i.e. text, song, artist info) like the ipod interface.
The peripheral product uses the XM input at the back of the stock headunit, so i'll switch you over to bluetooth -- but again -- how can it control pausing of the non-ipod mp3 player if it's just hooked into the headunit via mini-stereo input?
Get an ipod bud.
