AUX Input - No care for XM?

I'm new to this forum, and I've been reading for a long time. Some of the stuff you guys pull of is absolutely amazing.

Most of the posts I've read have been dealing with installing AUX inputs WITHOUT losing your XM, but is there a simple way for me just to create an input so I can plugin my iPod directly into my sound system? Thanks.

DIY audio 'aux in'

DIY: Easy 10min. Audio In for 06 TL

I would just get the USA Spec PA11-HON2 without the optional Y-adapter. You'll lose XM, but you'll have one of the best iPod integrations with an extra aux input. This is all without tapping/splicing into factory wires.

Hey man, thanks for your links, they were great, but I'm only 15, don't even have my car yet, and I really don't need an interface for my iPod, I am fine with making a playlist and playing it straight from my iPod to my speakers, so is there a simpler/chaper way to create an AUX input?

I feel retarded because you guys talk about all these wires and splicing, taking apart panels as easy, and I don't know maybe I just need to dive on in and give it all a try. Just don't want to screw up the car.

A young age doesn't mean you can't be good at car audio installation.

Solutions sorted by price/ease of install.
  1. Cassette adapter - around $10
  2. FM modulater - $20-$70
  3. Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX - $50?
  4. PIE X3 - $80

The first two options will not require you to take the car apart at all. They can be bought at any Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's electronics, etc.

The last two will require you to take apart a few pieces; some have been able to do it without. There are a few guides on here on how to install the last two options. Check the third link on post #2.

I wish I had this car when I was 15.
