Arrow AudioControl: Matrix, LC6-8, DQS

After doing a lot of reading on here and researching how to upgrade the TL audio system, i think i may have gotten a bit more confused than i was when i woke up today.
Some guys have used the Matrix, which is basically a line driver, when upgrading their system. From what i've seen, you remove your factory amp, add the Matrix, and then an aftermarket amp along with new speakers to greatly improve your sounds. Now, the Matrix would take the outputs from the head unit from what i understand. Then that would feed into the new amp, and the amp would feed your speakers. After speaking to "Martin" at AudioControl earlier, he thought that there might be a better way to go. He suggested using 2 LC8's, but i'd rather use the least amount of external pieces as possible. Then he directed me to the DQS, which is an EQ and lower voltage line driver then the Matrix. He told me it would boost the factory signal to around 2.5 volts as opposed to the 1 volt that i hear the fatory puts out. Now that's not as much as the Matrix, but it's still an improvement. He suggests doing it this way because you would still keep your 5.1 sound, and you wouldn't be cutting the connector going to the stock amp, which includes more than just the speaker wires. When i asked him about still keeping the factory amp and it's higher distortion, he responded that you wouldn't be turning the volume up as much because of the added power from the new amp. Makes sense, but....it would still have that not-so-good amp. He also recommends leaving the factory amp in there because it more then likely does more then just power the speakers. Go here to view the setup using an LC8 and DQS together. Martin also said that you can use the DQS by itself if you don't mind soldering the speaker wires coming out of the factory amp.
A phone call just interupted my thoughts, so are there any opinions, thoughts or other options out there?
