Audiocontrol LC6i mixed feelings
Hey guys I'm just putting the finish touches on a complete system and sound deadening project that I've worked on over the last month. Went with a infinite baffle sub setup, removed stock rear speakers and sub, replaced fronts with JBL components c608 gti's. Running everything off two JL amps.
The good news is everything works and sounds great.....at fairly low volume. I don't like to listen to my music crazy loud and even my wife thinks the volume at which it starts clipping is not that loud.
So if anyone has any ideas how to fix this I would love to hear it, basically no matter where I dial the gains in, either using the LC6i or the amps once I turn it up to a nice listening level it starts clipping.

I'd describe the clipping as distortion, seems like its mostly coming from the tweeters before I hear it anywhere else. Little crackle, little pop, voices are distorted. Just took some pics gonna cruise home and post them.
When I was running the LC6i I had the gains set pretty much all the way up and and the gain on my amps turned all the way down. I think that's what Audiocontrol recommends in the manual. I had plenty of volume with no distortion. The only issue I had was a slight noise floor hiss that you could hear with the car off and no music playing.
The process for setting gains in the manual should be pretty foolproof: Turn the volume on the headunit to around 32-35 and play some dynamic music. Increase the gains on the LC6i until the Maximized light starts to flicker and then back it off a little.
This might seem like a silly question, but are you sure you connected the LC6i to the stock amp outputs (gray connector) rather than the headunit outputs (black connector)?

Found the problem! Turns out it wasn't the LC6i at all, in order to install these speakers I had to cut out quite a bit of metal in the doors to get them to fit. On the right side door the speaker was sitting up on some metal on one side and not getting a good seal and causing some sort of basket inbalance once the driver really got moving. Reseated it and screwed it down good and sounds perfect.
