Audio/Radio Reset Options?
Audio/Radio Reset Options?
All,
Just had my car serviced (2006 Acura TL manual trans and NAVI), and the tech did not put in the XM code on my radio, just the standard radio code. I would like to reset my radio, but I'm reading every where that I need to disconnect the battery to do a reset? Is there any OTHER way to do it...I understand breaking the connection, but is there a fuse i can pull or something? OR is there a "soft" reset (ie control+alt+delete) that I can press all at the same time to reset the radio and give me a code prompt?
Thanks for the help!

turn your key to the ACC position
leave the radio ON for 1 hour, and DONT touch the radio during the hour.
come back and it should be asking for a code,
or
you can simply find the fuse for the radio and pull it for 30 seconds and put it back. make sure youre car's not running and keys are OUT when you pull the fuse.
goodluck

1. Check the owner's manual cover for the card with the codes.
2. Check the owner's manual to see if the codes are written in it.
3. Scan the side of the glove box and glove compartment for a sticker with the codes (dealers do this).
4. Check the engine bay- fuse box cover for a sticker with the codes (service techs sometimes do this).
5. Check the trunk spare tire compartment in case the code card/codes were placed there for safekeeping.
6. Check the owner website to see if the codes were saved there.
If that doesn't work, you'll need the serial number of the radio and car VIN to contact the dealer service dept to get the code.
