Audio Overhaul Help

i was thinking about overhauling my stock audio system as it no longer suits me. All i know so far is that i will need 1 four channel amp, one mono amp, 4 speakers and an JL 8w3v2 for the sub. I was thinking to go with infinty speakers (6, but i do not know the mounting depths. I was going toward replacing all the speakers except the center so the navi would still work. If you have any suggestions, please post them as i am a total audio newb. Of course, i will have the install done by a pro since i am a bit challenged when it comes to overhauling an audiosystem. Also a bit of sounddeadening will help so i chose this:
http://secondskinaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?pg=1&p=ps
here is the link for the speakers:
http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='KAPPA63.7I'&Ser=KAP&Cat=MEL
for JL sub:
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=19

sry that it is not hyperlinks as i am using a proxy to acess acurazine.

Sounds like you off to a good start.

MB Quarts also makes good speakers that are reasonably priced. I strongly recommend going to a couple car audio places and listening to various speaker combo's to find which you like best. Your amp is one of the most important components...I always recommend Zapco, their iForce line is real reasonably priced. Or if you have budget go for the Reference or DCReference line.

I am running three amps, 14 channels. One channel each for the tweeters, one channel each for mids, and two channels bridged for the sub. two channels for center channel and two channels for expansion later. Lots a different ways to go...

Good luck

not to sound retarted, but what does bridged mean? Also is it possible to tap the wires on the current sub, lead them to an amp thru an LOC and have 2 subs come out of the amp? Would i have to have the sub wire tapped twice and have 2 outputs, one for each sub?

Bridged means taking two channels and combining them into one...taking two channels to run one sub for instance. My Zapco DC650.6 has 4 channels at 104 each plus 2 channels at 240 each. They combined my 2 - 240W channels (480 total W) to power my Zapco R10B sub which can handle 300W Nominal Power and 600W Continuous Peak Power

As far as running more then one sub off of one channel...I would guess it depends on the amount of power the amp has and the power needs of the sub you plan on using. I would find a reputable shop in your area and start brainstorming ideas with them...

dude, if you are going to have a pro do it, let them worry about that...just find someone with a good reputation that you trust...it will all work out. I have replaced every speaker and added some, but the interior looks completely stock. So, it can be done, just find the right person to do the job.

Good luck

Just FYI, if you get aftermarket 6 1/2 speakers for the front doors, they may need to cut your door out a little to fit them. If thats something you dont want to happen, I would recommend doing some searching on here to find out which speakers do fit without metal removal.

the only pros near here is bestbuy, the next good place is in longwood florida called audio excellence which is an acura certified raido place (might be BS). Anyway, all i will have them do is run the wires from the hood to the trunk (power the sun and amp) and the rest i will do because the best jobis done only when you do it. Does anyone here have any good speaker reccomendations before i have to take my TL apart? (mounting depth too.
