Audio Help

I'm new to the audio aspect of Car mods or ICE mods (i've always had my friends do them, so i have very limited experience)...
so there's a few things i want to ask.

1) i searched around the forums, but no once ever seems to list the make or style of the amp that is currently installed in 3G TL (i have an 04 TL)

2) From my own personal experience, i like playing music at 30+ volume settings constantly....at this point, it has shorted out the rear deck speakers twice and gotten them replace at the dealership...however, it's a pain, and honestly i would like a little more base, and a bit more fuller sound so what i wanted to ask is:

a) will switching the speakers and sub with better quality ones increase the sound volume and richness drastically?
(for example) i am looking at [JL 8w3v2 – sub] and 4x[JBL GTO 627]
Does this set up make sense? would it work? and theoretically will this improve performance?

or what have other people done in regards to just replacing the speakers.... at the moment i dont think i can afford installing a new amp + wiring + trunk sub ~

please help me out, when it comes to the know how of car audio, i really suck at it.

yea i've been sitting here for the past 3 hours reading those threads, lol actually have the still tabbed....and it never really gives anything definative, and more importantly, after reading all those pages, i still havent gotten a clear concise answer about whether or not just replacing the speakers will improve performance. ~ either that, or else it got so technical i kind of sat there wondering if i should prop open my physics book ~ lol

but thanks anyway for the posts darmrman

would you by any chance know the spec of our stock amp?

i'd really like to know what people think or know of what swapping out the subs and 4 speakers for [JL 8w3v2 – sub] and 4x[JBL GTO 627] will be like.

swapping out the sub and using an aftermarket amp witll increase the bass quite a bit in the TL

just swapping out the speakers might sound a little better but unless you are powering them from another aftermarket amp you are not going to see a dramatic difference

so does this mean that even if i got the JL 8w3v2 – sub i would still have to get a monochannel sub and LOC it to the original sub wires? ~ the only benefit of using hte JL 8w3v2 – sub is that it fits in the rear deck?

i'm getting a bit confused here, and i'd like to get the facts straight before i go to some car audio dealer and get fucked in the face
