hello,

anyone experiencing problems with '04 TL ELS system? mine would not play any kind of CDs / DVDs and was replaced twice already. it would be working for a day or two, and then displays ERROR sign instead. or, it would show sign "DISC 01 1:01" but there would be no sound coming out of it. it also couldn't eject the CD. I had to restart the engine to get eject CDs.

if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. thanx.

 

UPDATED: technicians and service advisors at Acura dealership told me today that ELS DVD audio unit does not work because the temperature is too cold for unit to operate.
This does not seem very likely...
Did anyone have same or similar problem with the ELS DVD Audio unit? Or, do you have recommendations on what to do in this case?

 

Mine worked when it was -8F last month, so I doubt that is your issue.

You're not trying to play something silly like MP3 CDs, are you?

No, no MP3 or any other media than the regular, out of the original package CDs....

technicians at Acura told me yesterday that they have "re-initialized" the DVD audio unit, which means, I think, unplugging the battery and letting the unit reset itself. It started working again, and it was working when I parked it in the garage last night. I will test it again today when I get back home from work.
What does lemon law entail?

In the process of fixing and testing DVD unit, driver's seat heating button illumination lamp burned out, and I learned yesterday that such a thing is subject to only 1 year/20,000kms warranty.

 

Can't really answer that since you haven't said where you live, although I assume you're somewhere in Canada because of the reference to kilometres in your last post. Lemon laws are a state- or province-specific issue and not every jurisdiction has one.
