Unhappy Attempted Bluetooth pairing - Voice recognition/Audio/Phone are 'frozen'

Hi,

I have an '04 TL w. Navi.

Yesterday, I attempted to pair an HTC Touch Dual with the TL. I have already paired one successfully, though it was a frustrating experience that took several tries.

However, yesterday's attempt produced an altogether unexpected result in that the voice recognition and audio are now frozen. the display below the fuel guage on the lower right of the dash is stuck showing "PAIR" (last command had been to state a password for Bluetooth). None of the four voice recognition buttons on steering wheel produce any response now. The audio system is not turning on via any input. I've already tried resetting the phone.

If anyone has had a similar experience and perhaps a workaround, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Smile Disconnect the battery

Hello,

The problem has been addressed. Disconnnect the battery (this will reset the system), re-enter the code for the audio system that Acura gave you and proceed with the pairing procedure.

Best Regards,

You can reset the HFL to get it out of the locked condition by pulling Fuse 6. No need to disconnect the battery.

I'm having the exact same issue with my '04 and a BB 8830. I'm taking my car to the dealer on Tuesday to see if they will apply TSB 05-020 to see if that fixes the problem.

My HFL is locked too. First time see pulling Fuse 6 can reset the system. I will try it. Thanks a lot.

It maybe possible your HFL unit is bad.

Hi SVTMike, I tired your method, I pulled out fuse 6 and left the car for about 24 hrs. After I put the fuse back, the HFL is still locked. May be I will try disconnect the battery. Thanks a lot anyways for your info.

I might have had the fuse number wrong -- the HFL module is housed with the dome lights and moonroof switch -- so you have to pull the "dome light" fuse.

Fuse 6 is for interior light. After i pulled it out, I noticed the dome light is off, the key remote stopped working and the HFL is off too. But after I waited for 24 hrs and put the fuse back the HFL is still locked. I will try disconnect the battery. Thanks.

pull the fuse out is just as annoying! anyways all the sudden everything works now for me. my phone connects automaticly everytime i get in the car now. i think what i did different this time is give the car a lil extra time before putting in the 4 digit code.
