Anyone tried this?
I happen to stumble a cross a cool little product from innova.
Product Detail
You plug it into the obd2 port and leave it there. It then links to your wireless device, and through downloading an app you can now get all sorts of live data from your car intake temp, atmosphereic pressure.. Etc.. You can also get mpg calculations and do check engine lights.
For 140 it seems like it's not a bad deal. You have to spend that much to get that on a scan tool anyway.
But my I guess my question is, is it ok really to just leave it in the obd2 port forever.. And will it stick out to the point it gets in the way? You guys would know better than I would as I don't really go in the car very often. Monthly I'd say
I am contemplating getting this for my brothers 08 tls. Not for my cls fwiw

Three Wheelin'
They covered a BT OBD II dongle over at Engadget not too long ago. I forget the name and the different apps the dongle is compatible with, but it seems like a fun way to get some statistics of one's driving on the car.

There's plenty of elm32 bluetooth OBDII scanners that can do this and work with a whole array of applications in the google play store like Torque.
Many of them on amazon are only around $30, I have the ScanTool, only because I intended to leave it in all of the time. Most of them don't turn off and power is always available on the OBDII port, so if you leave it plugged in all of the time then it'll drain the battery while the car is off.
Here's mine with torque, torque part is about half-way at 3 mins.

Correct me if I am wrong but you have changed the navi screen?
I don't think I wanna be changing that out with it being so new. The car is barely used with 36000 Kim's on it. I'm trying to just take advantage of what is already there.
Is this compatible with the stock screen?

do you know know what an android device looks like?
its a tablet mod.
these wireless dongles display information on any android or ipad devices....
so if the stock screen isnt android, then no you wont get the information to display on the stock screen.
it will however, send info to your phone....
also, please dont buy an OBDII dongle that cost more than 30 bucks.

OP - That thing seems about $100 too much. A cheap ELM BT adapter and Torque (or DashCommand) are all you need.
Nope. I think most of the cheap ELM BT devices don't go through Apple certification, or at least I've heard. But some of the WiFi ones "supposedly" work. Android FTW here (like always)
