Anyone looking for a dash cam?
If anyone is currently looking for a high-end quality dash cam than now is a good time to buy.
Amazon currently has the Thinkware F750 on sale. For those of you that don't know, the Thinkware F750 is a direct competitor with the Blackvue DR650.
Both are capable of being a 2-channel system, however the Blackvue DR650 only records in 720P for the rear facing camera. For the Thinkware you will have to be a extra camera (X500) for rear recording however it records in 1080P.
It also has built in Lane Departure Warning, Red Light & Speed Camera Warning, Forward Collision Warning System all built-in to the unit! These can easily be disabled at anytime if you find it too intrusive.
MANY people that used to run Blackvue dash-cams jump ship and go to Thinkware instead. People complain of Blackvue over-heating, pixelation problems and low bit-rate recording issues.
I am new to dash cams and started doing research a few weeks ago. Initially I was going to order the Blackvue DR650-2 channel but came across a thread on DashCamTalk reviewing the Thinkware F750.
I finally decided the F750 was the best choice for me but held off on purchase because it's pretty expensive.
The front camera alone is $300.
The rear camera is $100.
The hardwire kit is $30.
Altogether it's $430 + tax
Now Amazon has the special going on for $110 off!
Thinkware F750 - $219.99 (normally $300)
Thinkware X500 (rear camera) - $80 (normally $100)
Hardwire Kit - $20 (normally $30)
That's $320! The Blackvue DR650-2CH is $369 in comparison and this F750 is better than the Blackvue in every aspect. More features, high recording bit-rate, better day and night time video quality, more intuitive wi-fi app to use your phone to view recordings.

looks like a good dash cam.
a little too expensive for me, still.
I went with the A261, still coming in the mail. it'll replace my current dashcam which is holding up fine.
A261 is still a relatively new camera, but reviews have been great so far, it took them 3 weeks to ship mine out since any stock they were receiving was being sent out immediate.

I wanted a dash cam that was 2 channel so it can also record from the rear in case I ever get rear-ended or someone hits the back of my car pulling into a parking spot while im inside the store.
That camera is pretty big too. I'm sure it has to do with the built-in display it has.
I was looking for a camera that is more discrete and not so obvious looking. Also I did not want a camera with a LCD display because the display is too small to watch anything. I would much rather remove the SD card and plug it into my laptop. Or in the case of the Blackvue 650 or Thinkware F750 you can download a app that connects with the camera and you can download or view the video files from your dash cam directly to your iPhone or Android device.

I ordered mine on Everbuying, they had a promotion for $86 instead of $129. Explains why everything has been delayed, I suppose. Everyone grabbing one
I was really close to buying the mini 0806 or 0805, which is very discreet with an LCD.
I love the form of the Blackvue the most. Not a huge fan of the square form factor of the A261.
About the LCD, I don't use the LCD to playback recordings either.
I'd love to try out the F750 but it costs more than double the price of the A261
I always park at the end of the parking lot backed up into a curb, so having a rear camera isn't as important, but I'd like a rear camera for convenience. I was thinking of buying a very discreet one for the back.

Ideally i would like to park far away from everyone else too, but sometimes its not possible. Especially when its a parking lot like walmart. There are no curbs separating each side. If you park backwards in those spaces to easily leave, another car can pull in behind you when you are in the store or restaurant and slightly bump you.
Or a car or truck reversing out of the parking space across from you can easily back up a little too far and hit you than take off like nothing happened.
The other day i was on the highway and traffic immediately started to hit their brakes and so did i. I was looking in the rear view and i see this car closing distance very quickly. She eventually stopped before getting too close to hit me. I was able to see that she was busy talking on the phone the whole time.
If she would have hit me it wouldn't have been good. Times like that is when having a dedicated rear facing camera is nice

i have two sets and recommend the blacksys cf-100. it's a 2 channel system with parking mode, my two main criteria. i got it for $90 shipped from amazon and then bought a $35 battery discharge prevention device and a better $40 memory card (needed if you run parking mode).
i did research for a few months before i found that this hit most of my needs and i didn't want to spend the cost of the higher end models for the same result. all two channel dash cams aren't great, no perfect solution yet, but this one gets good reviews on dashcamtalk forum which is one of the biggest dash camera forums.

I really like dash cameras that are discrete and look cylindrical like the blackvue 550/650. Doesn't really stand out much.
Do you have any pictures from the front of the vehicle so i can see how that blacksys looks? I may consider it for family member cars

Wow that's a pretty good alternative. $100 for a 2 channel system. Its not so discrete looking though but the picture probably just make it look larger than it really is.

we have a neighbor who parks nose to nose with us, and his motorcycle was stolen the other day and he looked around to see if there were any cameras setup and didn't notice ours so they must be somewhat discreet haha.
unfortunately he told us too late that it was stolen and we only had video the morning after it got stolen (the cameras overwrite data when it's full).
we've only caught one accident on the cams (not us) but it gives such a great peace of mind!
i can't stress enough to research the right memory card if you're running parking mode. i got the lexar 633x which was highly recommended on forums for parking mode. other memory cards will fail since it's being written too much

I purchased this unit on discount using my Chase Freedom card. They are running a promotion this quarter where Amazon purchases are part of their 5% cashback category. They even went ahead and doubled it to 10% cashback for amazon starting the 23rd. I lucked out and bought it thru amazon and got it for a steal! Thanks man!
