I did some searches on the forums but I couldn't yield too much in the way of solid answers. And since they're all pretty much out-of-date, I thought I'd start a new post.

I own a 2004 TL w/ NAV (in Canada, so no XM button) and I want to integrate my iPhone into my NAVI unit as best as possible. So far I've landed on a few options but this looks like the best, http://www.icarkits.com/product_info...oducts_id=3341 (here's the product info on the company's site: http://www.neocaraudio.com/product_i...oducts_id=5042), since it still retains my factory radio functionality and allows my CD changer to stay intact as well.

Since there isn't too much information available on the pros/cons of this, can anyone comment on what they've heard?

 

I have the NEO unit in my 06 TL/Navi/Canadian. I'm having the issue of the navi unit rebooting/controls locking as some others have noted with a similar unit (different brand name). It doesn't stop playing songs and it's intermittant. Fact is, if I don't have the audio screen up, I don't even notice anything until I see the navi bootup screen appearing. This seems to be a problem mostly with the 06 TL year. I know of another member with the 04 TL and he had no issues but I don't believe he had the navi.

Wow that sounds annoying. Seems like (from the link you provided) that it's a 06 TL issue, but you can never be too safe.

Was the installation simple enough? I know next to nothing about installing things in cars (this is my first car) you think I'll have a tough time?

Also, where did you buy it? I was looking at Futureshop (iSimple) and BestBuy (they have a geeksquad play and charge kit).

 

Installation is not complex but getting to the back of the navi head unit is a little difficult. There is a thread that gives the step by step instruction on how to do this. fI had to purchase the unit on line as our vendors here did not carry that product.
