Anyone have a blown subwoofer?
I've recently noticed a sound coming from my sub- that sounds a whole lot like it's blown .. anyone experience this?
I'm tempted to pull the rear deck off and investigate, but I think I'd rather just make an appt. w/ Acura and have them check it out.

Mine did this a month ago. Sounded like crap. Made an appointment after a couple weeks. A few days before it all but stopped. They said sometimes the seals and insulation shifts or something. They removed it and reinstalled it. Its been mostly ok since. Driving it home that night from the dealer I thought it sounded weird a few times but, since then seems ok.

I had to have mine replaced...it was working on and off (sometimes it was perfect sometimes static). I went in once and they said it was a loose wire. Then it came back as soon as I left the parking lot. When I went back they just swapped it out. No problems since then.
I was VERY happy they had a new sub in stock. I had an 02 Maxima before my TL...had the bose stereo replaced 3 times. Each time they ordered it there was at least a 2 month wait to get a new one. One time they put the new one in and never checked to see if it worked. The replacement was totally dead...my original only didn't play CDs. They REFUSED to put the less broken one in and made me wait 2 months.
Reason # 8,000,000 why I don't see myself buying another Nissan again...

Same problem, blown sub replaced under warranty. Now I have to listen to my music a little lower...that is until someone finds a CLEAN way to mount a sub in the stock location.

The rubber surround on my sub tore and sounded crappy when I tuned up the volume/bass..so did an exteme makeover: I build a custom sealed enclosure in the stock location, using stock sub hole, with 8" Elemental Designs sub. Next steps are to upgrade amps and add another 8" sub. Check it out:

Nope..no rattles at all...the MDF sides also helped strengthen and isolate..I can barely feel any vibration when I put my hand on the rear deck (without the covers). ..I also powered it up with external amp to test it and it works fine..next steps are to hook up my Soundstream D'artganan 5.1 amp...only downside is the size, so I am working on the layout etc..
Maybe I should have considered the Earthquake...however building a lightly larger enclosure than needed by the Elemental design does improve the bass response...I am going to work on the second 8" firing through the trunk pass thru next...
