Amp and Sub

If you install an aftermarket sub and amp do you need to set the filter to LP.

Does the stock bose amp have built in crossovers or do the stock speakers have them.

If the low frequencies are already separated why would the LP be used for the aftermarket amp and sub combo?

Best reason to tap into the stock sub line is it allows you to control the level of bass from the deck. And like one of the previous acuraziners stated, the bose amp crosses over the stock sub at 80hz. My 08 accord i did this because the old amp i was using to power the 8 i swapped out the stock amp for had x-over control on the amp.
