Amp Install Help Please.....
I'm installing a stereo in my 2004 TL ...got everything done but having a lil problem...I'm running two amps one for bass and one for stocks which I swapped to Memphis ...The problem is when I connect put power to both amp one cuts off ..when I remove remote wire from one it comes back on....puzzling...the remote wire is ran to the stock amp on passengers side...please help
are the amps piggybacked to each other or separately wired? remember, anything that is an electric issue is from a circuit not being looped back (ie: positive power from battery-->fuse-->amp then negative cable hooked to amp-->frame to run back to the ground wire on the battery)
I dont know if this helped one bit, but if you give a little more detail i might be able to help more.

you should avoid using the factory turn-on signal at all ... just run a line from the driver's side, fuse box with an add-a-fuse connector - plenty to piggyback multiple amps +more if looking to add a processor or whatever in the future

Thank u guys for the quick response...I was tapping into the factory amp remote turn on (passengers side).. I did some more research and found out just as u guys stated...seems as if there not enough power from there to power both amps....I'll run a seperate power from fuse #32 ((found this is other posts))...I'll see how that works out today...once again thank u

The TR-4 is a relay so one of the leads is connected to the remote turn-on, one to 12V power, one to ground, and one to your amp(s) remote turn on. What the relay does is take the low current remote turn-on from the factory HU and uses that signal to control a relay that gates the 12V power to your amp(s). This results in a much stronger turn-on signal that can drive multiple amps (I'm controling three amps with the TR-4).
...so wired both amps and crossover to fuse #32 for remote wire...so far so good ((thanks guys))...I didn't hear any clicks or other sounds through speakers...although I didnt put the bass in yet...ordered a port box for the kicker L7's im putting in but they sent the wrong box so now have to wait
Thanks for all the info guys...I got everything up and running now...2- 12" L7's in a ported box ((no trunk left)) lol...Memphis 6.5" in doors and back dash ...along with two bullet tweeters ((set inside back center armrest))....I got my amps from a buddy of mine which arent as powerful as needed but does the job so far...will swap for a kicker 2500 in the future
